MOND'S BEERDAY

What else can I say? Everyone was smashed. Number one box to tick of when throwing a massive "Hey-I'm-21-party". Unlimited booze. Covered. An eclectic mix of celebs, fashion peeps and 'it' girls. Heaps. Nonstop music to sing and dance to. Check. It was heaving! Thanks Mond for a fantastic party! Now if i can only those damn hangover pills.

Above photo by Daniel Tan.
I only took a few photos from my camera which was a bummer. But Mond lent me his album so the last 6 ones are from Daniel Tan. I'm posting all my non-pro ones, (in other words the grainy stylesamurai point and shoot signature), and then the pro's, which you can obviously tell by the soft flash and super clear quality. *note to self: need a better cammy!!!" teehee. Enjoy.

Cheers Mond!

BROGUE LOVING

JOHNNY ROCKETS

In a totally unrelated style entry, I'd just like to share that there's a Johnny Rockets in Eastwood! For those who love and crave their malt shakes, you don't have to go to Melrose to get it.

Though a bit pricey at 250++ an order, it's still sinfully thick and yummy. I'd go for the Vanilla as their strawberry, well, is not really real strawberries. It comes in that glass with a steel shaker for the extra amount that can't fit. Shared it with the boyfie and still couldn't finish it.

The booths come with a personal chookbox, Piso for a song. May nabibili pa pala sa piso.

I'm a huge chili con carne fan, theirs was a bit on the salty side, but di ako choosy. The chicken fingers are tasty.

Burgers are huge but bland. Sorry, it's still Chillis for me. Their burgers are TDF.

UNEQUAL

Symmetry is overrated. Loving the offset V-neck and the diagonal hem of the shirt.

Boots in distressed leather is a HOT.

WHAT IF

in the future you can actually brand your skin with the beauty product that you're using. I think it's cool. But as with all designer products when it comes covetable, how can you stop the fakes? But if the concept somehow marries labels with technology (like that branded spot darkening when it hits sunlight, or some sort), then I reckon knocking it off would be just a tad bit more of an effort.

This is Ryan McSorley's product design final project for Central St. Martins. Though its not as hi-tech as laser etched skin (it's just an embossed headband) the idea is quite novel. Read about it HERE.

POWER PLAY

Weird, I can't seem to publish comments. Must be some sort of a bug.

But on another note, this picture just made my heart stop. Right?

A meeting yesterday in between couture shows (sooo Editrix!), requested by Anna to discuss how France can better support fashion. Isn't that a pseudo slap in the face for Carine though? Shouldn't that request come from the Paris's Vogue Editor herself? Just a thought.

"French Minister Estrosi has plans for a state-owned bank to offer financing for fashion start-ups, with more details to come by the end of March; the state will act as loan guarantor. “I want Paris to remain the world's capital of fashion. Today, we need people to share the risks.”
He also pledged to Wintour that he will relax the country's 35-hour work week for fashion house employees who need to work twice that amount in the weeks leading up to the fashion shows. And a master's degree to help French students compete with peers who attend schools like Central St. Martins is being developed."

WINNER!

Eeep, my first entry of the year. Sorry. You cannot believe how busy I am. Haggard as en. Came back from an out of town shoot yesterday, in a place where there was no cellphone signal and wifi (yes, those places still exist) to shoot a fashion ed. It's scary to be that cut off from the world. And to think I was only there technically for 3 days. I think I died.

Anyhoo, came back in town with AC telling me that we won in TIC's Style Awards. Woop! Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Haha. Happy. Totally unexpected but still, uberhappy! To those who took time out (I swear, it is an effort!) to click and accumulate my 571 votes, thank you. Congratulations to AC as well. *beaming*
