STAR MAGIC BALL 2009

I've always wished that local celebrities have the hindsight to hire stylists so they could look stylishly put together. Its not like the masses would stop becoming fans if they're directional. I think celebrities hold the power to a higher fashion eduction.

So imagine my delight to see these few holding their ground in their choices of evening wear. Given that gowns don't really need much styling, (of course you have to start off with a fabulous designer, a few key pieces of jewelry, the right do', matching shoes and the perfect clutch, haha), but these few nailed it, take notes and learn.

Old Hollywood glamour. Loving the hair and the red lipstick. Ann Curtis in Michael Cinco.

Nude is still a strong trend for Fall/Winter and it's a popular color of choice for quite a few clebs. I like that her hair is in a soft updo. This dainty gown by Paul Cabral is just perfect for Kim Chiu as it reflects her youth without compromising elegance and beauty.

A little bit of edge on the red carpet. Structured one shoulder gown by Jerome Ang on Meryll Soriano.

Simple. Classic. Clean. Ivarluski Aseron on Gretchen Barretto.

Glammed up Tinkerbell. Czarina Villa on Maricar Reyes.

Oooh, textured architectural folds on the skirt. Francis Libiran on Bea Alonzo.

The bravest choice of the night, bold shoulders and white. I would have liked it better though if it was just all white, without the black skirt underneath. Ivarluski Aseron on pops Fernandez.
